About two years ago, we launched our Abide program with a clear vision: to provide families a simple, affordable way to get guidance through estate closing issues after a loss.
Our Full-Service program walks families step by step through every task: setting up fraud protection, transferring accounts, handling insurance, claiming benefits, and understanding estate issues. The family’s dedicated Estate Specialist spends hour with them getting everything taken care of. This is a great option for some funeral homes and hospices. Others don’t have quite that much room in the budget for an aftercare program.
That’s why we created Abide. Abide focuses on the first, critical step: figuring out which items on the checklist actually apply to each family.
Unlike Full-Service, Abide isn’t about spending hours on calls completing tasks. Instead, it’s a short check-in. Our aftercare specialist connects with the family, offers support, and walks through a structured list of questions to determine which items apply to their unique situation. At the end of the call, the family receives a customized Estate Closing Guide highlighting exactly what they need to do next.
Building the Ultimate DIY Guide
Creating our Estate Closing Guide involved taking everything we’ve learned over 10+ years serving thousands of families. We sat down with our most experienced estate specialists, reviewed our training materials, and synthesized them into a 60+ page guide covering the essentials of estate closing.
But, no family wants to work through 60+ pages. When we deliver our Estate Closing Guide, we only want to include the checklist items the family actually needs to worry about.
We built a tool that takes each issue identified during the Abide call and generates a personalized guide for each family. It’s simple, clear, and actionable. Families know exactly what they need to do, without feeling overwhelmed.

Estate closing tasks are stressful and unfamiliar for most families. Many have never had to manage accounts, benefits, and notifications after a loss. Abide gives families clarity. We figure out what matters and what doesn’t, reducing stress and providing peace of mind. Even though it’s a lighter-touch program, families experience meaningful relief and confidence at an affordable price of under $35 per family, compared to over $100 for our Full-Service.
At the same time, Abide provides funeral homes and hospices with real business value. It differentiates your services from competitors, improves family satisfaction, encourages positive reviews and word-of-mouth, and supports metrics like pre-need engagement or CAHPS survey response rates. By addressing a critical need that families don’t expect, Abide creates a win-win for both families and your business.
Abide bridges the gap between what families expect and what they truly need at the start of estate closing. By helping families identify the right next steps and providing a clear, customized guide, you remove overwhelm and make a meaningful impact, without overcomplicating the process.
This first step can set the tone for everything that follows, making the entire estate closing process more manageable for families and more effective for providers.
